Profession Guides

Licensed healthcare professionals are the heart of the complex Nevada healthcare system. Each is limited by law or contracts in the healthcare services they can provide. Each is licensed or registered or certified through a State agency, although some may be exempted from State licensure by a federal agency (Veterans Affairs or Bureau of Indian Affairs).

Every licensed health professional is required by Chapter 629.076 to: “affirmatively communicate his or her specific licensure or certification to all current and prospective patients. Such communication must include, without limitation, a written patient disclosure statement that is conspicuously displayed in the office of the healthcare professional and which clearly identifies the type of license or certificate held by the healthcare professional. The statement must be in a font size sufficient to make the information reasonably visible.” Additionally, “A healthcare professional shall, during the course of providing healthcare services other than sterile procedures in a healthcare facility, wear a name tag which indicates his or her specific licensure or certification.”

This section of the NMC website provides key information about licensed Nevada healthcare professionals for consumers, patients and their families, researchers, and health professionals seeking Nevada licenses or professional information.
