UMC Pediatric Treatment Room

UMC Pediatric Treatment Room Unveiling!

On May 14, 2019, members of the Nevada Medical Center (NMC) Board and staff attended a ribbon-cutting event to unveil the renovated Pediatric Treatment room at the University Medical Center (UMC).  Due to a collaborative partnership between the Clark County Medical Society Alliance (CCMSA) and NMC proceeds from CCMSA’s annual fashion show fundraiser were donated to UMC to upgrade and modernize the Pediatric Treatment Room. The project included renovations that included new flooring, paint, a new ceiling, lighting and fixtures.  In addition, a larger bed was purchased to accommodate larger pediatric patients and a new exam light for better patient care.  Moreover, a new Phillips Telemetry Monitor with central monitoring to the Pediatric Treatment Intensive Care Unit (PICU) was also installed.  And, to support distraction therapy during medical procedures, an interactive distraction wall and virtual reality goggles were also purchased to help pediatric patients relax during medical treatment and procedures. NMC is proud to have played a part alongside CCMSA in order to bring comfort and a sense of wellness to UMC pediatric patients.
