There are a number of categories of nurse licensure or certification, including: registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs). According to the Nevada State Board of Nursing, in 2016 there were: 23,222 licensed RNs; 3,163 LPNs; 1,180 APRNs; 8,133 CNAs; and, 94 CRNAs.
